The ceiling molding is straight but there was a gap between the ceiling and the molding that we had to fill in so it looks wavy. I told you. Nothing is square or level in this house. Just gotta go with the flow.
The desk is another story. It's mostly finished but I didn't realize that one of the drawers broke when my husband was attempting to take the hardware off. So there's that. And the pink. I don't know. I love it in my inspiration picture, but I'm not sure I love it on this desk. I may abort and paint it boring white.
One thing I am loving is the little nook.
I just need to touch up caulk/paint and add a pull and maybe a pillow and this is done. It's shaping up. Next up?
-Replace window which has a crack in it (of course it does).
-Shoe molding
-Light fixture..still looking
-Make curtains
-Buy rug
-Buy furniture
-Hang shelves
-Organize!
I'm hoping to have this done in 2014;-0
ok i will be honest- i love the pink in your inspiration as well and i think it could totally work, but in the image above it looks too cool to me. cool in tone i mean.
ReplyDeleteI do think the color is slightly different. But that's okay. Accessories!! Accessories!!! Right now we are all staring at a pink desk against a yellow wall. What will your chair look like? Wall art? Items on top of the desk. Re painting the desk can be done at any point. If you decide. I say go with it.
ReplyDeleteI think you need to go further with the desk to really see how it will look. There is so much more to put in the room that it could still look fabulous! Don't give up on it yet!
ReplyDeleteDon't give up on it yet! Once you get accessories in place it will make a huge difference in how you feel about it :)
ReplyDeleteAgree with all above. I think you'll feel it's very MEH if you were to paint it white. Give the big (pink) guy a chance :)
ReplyDeleteI'm on board with pink, but maybe a softer pink? Love the little nook!
ReplyDeleteI think the pink is so fun just wait and see as you add in the other elements. the nook is adorable....I want it! Love how this is coming along.
ReplyDeleteI like the pink! Get everything else in there and give it a chance before painting it back to white.
