The cabinets are up though not all the doors are on. The countertops are on but still mostly covered. You may be able to tell which one I chose, but I'm saving that reveal and the reason I chose what I did for another day.
So that's all great and dandy, but I have a decision to make that I'm dragging my feet on. I bought a reversible farm sink but can't decide which front I like the best. I originally bought it for the fluted look, but my husband likes the more plain front. Take a look and tell me what you think. I'm REALLY torn.
Plain I think, but it might also depend on other patterns you have planned (like tiles).
ReplyDeleteI like the plain best but they are both pretty. And I like the cabinets! Yay, progress!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! The contractor, plumber and subcontractor all like the plain as well. I guess my fluted is outnumbered.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably doing white subway tiles in a brick pattern. The plain is definitely the popular vote right now.
ReplyDeletePlain. Unless you absolutely love and can't live without it (and since you are torn I don't know that's the case), add texture and pattern with something else. It's a lot easier to change curtains and lighting than it is a sink.
ReplyDeleteI say fluted! It is more original, more of a talking piece and reflects something YOU fell in love with! If it were me I'd want it because it would make me smile every time I looked at it. Either would look fabulous though : )
ReplyDeleteThanks Emmalina! Unfortunately I am outvoted. Most everyone likes the plain front the best. Even our neighbor who is a high end interior designer (which we could never afford) likes it. He graciously gives us free advice when I ask and his opinion was that because the cabinets are so streamlined and there is no other fluted areas to play off of the sink, that we should keep it simple. It made sense to me and even though I love the fluted side I also like the plain so I think we're doing plain.
ReplyDeleteTrue. We've decided on the plain. I suppose if we wanted to do a mini kitchen makeover we could just switch the sink:)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the flat front. '
ReplyDeleteThe new kitchen is looking great.
Thanks so much for commenting. I'm a HUGE fan of your blog.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure! Good luck with your kitchen!
